Fractured Fairy Tale

WALT: recraft a traditional fairytale by changing characters, settings, main events and ideas

but still making sure that the bone-structure of the fairy tale can be recognised.

RONALDO AND THE  BEANSTALK

In a poor house, far away from town, there lived Ronaldo and his mother, These two were so poor that they survived only on water.

One morning Ronaldo’s mother told him to go to the old man down the road on their street with the golden eggs, because if you get the eggs you can trade them for money. “Go get some golden eggs from the old man, here’s some money” said mother.

Ronaldo went to get the golden eggs from the old man, but he was all out of golden eggs but knowing that Ronaldo would get into trouble with his mother, the old man gave him beans. When he got home he gave the beans it to his mother. “You got the wrong ones you dumb boy”! Mother was so disappointed in him especially when he doesn’t listen. His mother told him to throw them out, so he went and threw them out of the window. Ronaldo was very angry at his mother because he thought those were important to him.

The next Morning he saw a big huge beanstalk which went right up to the top of the sky. Ronaldo couldn’t believe it when he laid his eyes on the massive, tall and gigantic beanstalk. He went outside and he wanted to climb it. So that’s what he did, he climbed up. He wanted to see what was up there, It was hard for him to climb because the beanstalk was very tall and long.

When he was climbing up the beanstalk, he saw something very big up ahead of him. He thought it was a house but it was a tower. He got up by the tower and he stood by the tower’s door, he heard a low voice “Fee, Fie, Fo, Fum”! It was a giant with a low voice, he heard Ronaldo walking quietly through the door. When the giant saw Ronaldo, Ronaldo was out of that door like turbo. The giant was trying to catch him, down the long beanstalk Ronaldo went, the giant came down straight after Ronaldo.

Ronaldo just remembered, that he had a knife in his pocket. He took it out and cut the branches of the beanstalk. The giant fell on the ground and hurt himself. His mother got a huge fright when she saw the giant drop to the ground. And when she saw Ronaldo coming down from the beanstalk he got in trouble, big time!

After all the drama they had, the giant was put into a portal which led him far away from their house... As you never know if and when that giant will come back.

As for Ronaldo and his mother, they were still poor and they had to pay for all the damages caused by the giant’s fall. So it was a hard financial time for his mother… again. But this time she made Ronaldo pay the huge clean-up bill.
